We review Disney World’s Artist Point Restaurant, located in Wilderness Lodge at Disney World.
We rate Artist Point as good for ALL ages, due to delicious food and fun theming. This is not a character dining experience. Children of all ages are welcome, but the atmosphere is more refined and adult. That said, we had a blast with our 18 month old.
Artist Point. Ahhh. I could go on and on and on about this place. Artist Point is truly excellent. It is – almost unbelievably – also relatively easy to get an Advanced Dining Reservation there! A quick look at the Disney reservations available for tonight as I write this review shows a table for two available at 7:35 PM. Prime dinner time on the same day! Reservations here are usually not one of the hard-to-get reservations that require lots of planning.
There is so much that is good about Artist Point, including its tucked-away location at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. On a recent trip when we stayed at the Contemporary, we started our vacation with a boat ride to Wilderness Lodge and dinner at Artist Point. It was an amazing, relaxing way to start our trip.
Artist Point has beautiful rustic theming and a delicious Pacific Northwest-inspired menu. It is not a character meal, and the decor is muted and tasteful, so if you are looking for a place to entertain the youngest of your crew, this may not be the best bet. If you are looking for a relaxing, delicious, upscale dinner, you really can’t go wrong. Artist Point is considered a signature restaurant and therefore requires two table service dining credits if you are on the dining plan. In many cases, it may make sense to plan to pay for this one out of pocket.
So, what are some of the truly fabulous dishes? In my opinion…
- Pacific Ahi Tuna Tataki appetizer
- Smoked Mushroom Bisque
- Chinook Cedar Plank Salmon
- The Dessert Cobbler
An evening at Artist Point makes an incredible date night. In fact, several cast members I know choose Artist Point as their favorite date night and cite it as one of their very favorite restaurants on Disney property, including a former chef! I highly recommend trying Artist Point if you have not been. I promise you won’t regret it.
Final verdict: 4.8 / 5 stars!
