The Outer Rim Lounge is a lounge and bar located in Walt Disney World’s Contemporary Resort, on the 4th floor, right next to
Chef Mickey’s (table service) and Contempo Cafe (quick service). It’s a good place to go for a drink before your dinner at Chef Mickey’s. Alcohol pricing is consistent with the restaurants next door. In other words, if a beer costs $8 at Outer Rim, you will find that it costs about $8 at either Chef Mickey’s or Contempo Cafe. Outer Rim Lounge drink menu sports a full service bar with Disney’s standardized cocktail menu. They have a decent selection of beers, both on draft and in the bottle, including several craft beers and a rotating seasonal tap. They also have a limited wine menu.
Outer Rim Lounge no longer serves food, although snack mix is often out on the counter. You can check out the full official Disney menu here. A reservation (ADR) is usually not required (and not offered), although the bar can fill up during busy season and large conventions. Generally, however, ease of access and speed are among Outer Rim’s strengths.
Aside from having an OK selection of beers, Outer Rim Lounge offers decent views from the Contemporary overlooking Bay Lake. The atmosphere is … interesting. You will find a combination of families waiting for their table and conventioners drinking after work. It’s not great, but its good enough for a pre-dinner drink.

Overall, we give it 3.5 stars. It’s not special, but it’s convenient, and it gets the job done after a day in the park.
